This number tells the story of “NEW” clothes discarded from apparel stores in Germany. At this very moment, an incredible number of textiles are overproduced and discarded. To make T-shirts, we need synthetic fibers, most of which are made from petroleum. In other words, when we are wearing a T-shirt, we are, in a sense, wearing petroleum. And it is said that the petroleum our dear earth holds within will be depleted in 50 years’ time from now. We are guzzling and losing natural resources of the world in our mass production and mass consumption.
But can we so easily criticize mass production? Because of it, we can enjoy dressing up on the cheap, and there are people who are making their living out of buying and selling fabrics. Superficial argument will not lead us anywhere, but then, what are we supposed to do? To begin with, let’s take up mass consumption first. With your +1 suggestion, our world may have a fresh new turn.

これは毎年、ドイツのアパレルショップから捨てられる「新しい」洋服の数です。今この瞬間も、信じられないほどの織物が過剰に生産され、破棄されています。
Tシャツを作るには化学繊維が必要で、化学繊維は石油から作られます。Tシャツを着ることは、言い換えれば石油を着ることと言えるかもしれません。そして、地球に埋蔵されている石油はあと50年で枯渇すると言われています。
大量生産と大量消費によって、私たちは地球の天然資源を失いつつあります。
しかし、大量生産は本当に避難されるべきでしょうか？大量生産によって私たちはおしゃれを格安に楽しむことができ、また生地を売って生計を立てている人もいるのです。
表面的な議論は何にもつながりません。では、私たちは何をすべきでしょうか？

Macao is a small country, but is a repository of allures and mysteries. It is not too much to say that Macao can take pride in her stunning treasures of 30 World Heritage sites. This time we would like to express this metropolis as a spaceship. We would like you to enjoy its construction process out of the blueprint we drew as if you were traveling in space. We , too, are more than happy to accompany you as the crew members and travel with Macao.

マカオは決して大きな国ではないが、さまざまな相反する要素を受け入れて共存させてきた、多くの魅力に満ちた神秘の宝庫である。
30もの世界遺産が西洋と東洋の入り混じる歴史を語り、その隣では近未来を体現するかのような街の建設が進んでいる。
我々は今回、この奥深く魅力的な都市を宇宙船として捉え、作品の制作を試みた。
設計図が組み上がっていき、宇宙へ旅立つ様子を、乗組員として共に見届けたいと思う。もしもこの船が宇宙で何かと出会い、語るべき時がきたなら、我々の持つ文化の豊かな魅力を余す所なく語ってくれるに違いない。

When you face Liszt’s music, you will be repeatedly surprised at the experimental spirit to be free from the forbearing frameworks or tonal tendencies, and to touch the delicate feelings his magical fingers owned up to, narrating the episodic “Piano Magician.” Among others being an expert on improvisation, he added ad-lib turns here and there to his composition, enjoying the tonal experiment.
We made attention to the aspect of improvised “invisible sound” and to create the artwork into which random digits were introduced. The random algorithm ferments the world of unpredictable sound and pictures, which will trigger tensional imbalance in you. This could be similar to attending Liszt’s concert full of unpredictable discord in which he broke the piano or swooned. Just like a fresh breeze blown into the music world by Liszt, we would also like to pick up the breeze and let the audience experience the beauty of the unexpected.

フランツ・リストの楽曲と向き合ったとき、それまでの決まりきった形式や調性から抜け出そうとする実験的な精神と「ピアノの魔術師」といわれる超絶技巧に基づいて、あまりにも繊細で豊かな情緒が表現されていることに改めて驚かされる。 なかでも即興の名手でもあったリストが楽曲に次々にアドリブを加え、音の実験を楽しんでいたことは非常に興味深く、今回我々はこの「見えない音」に注目し、乱数を取り入れた作品の制作を行った。ランダムなアルゴリズムを使うことで起こる化学反応、予定調和しない音と映像の世界に放り込まれることによって、一種の緊張感がもたらされるだろう。 それはもしかしたら、ピアノを壊したり気絶したりしたという「予定調和しない」リストの演奏会に赴く気分に似ているかもしれない。 果たしてどのような予期しない美しさに触れることができるのか、リストが音楽界に新風を吹き込んだように、これまでになかった体験を提供したい。
